Debt Recovery

The debt collection process starts once the debt is turned over to a collection agency The first contact our company makes with the debtor is a statement of the account which is the formal demand letter written to the debtor from us which contains the full details of the debt account. This document gives them seven (7) business days to respond either by email or preferably through a normal telephone or video call to discussion as to how they will liquidate the debt.

A copy of this correspondence is forwarded to our client via electronic mail for their records if so desired. We contact persons after seven (7) business days once they have not made any contact with our office. Telephone calls are made Monday to Friday between 8.00a.m to 4.30 pm, which is done in a stern but professional manner, personal visits to the home or workplace between 6.00 a.m. to 6.00 p.m..

In the event that the debtor is willing to settle by instalments (this is assessed according to the amount outstanding and the age) A debt payment agreement is prepared by Buckston Capital as agent for your company as the principal.

This agreement is witnessed by collector or bailiff or a witness of the debtor’s choice, if so desired. This document binds the debtor to a schedule of payments and a fixed weekly/biweekly or monthly payment date that can be used as evidence in the law courts for litigation in the event the matter reaches that stage.

When our clients have forwarded the debt to us, it is highly recommended that any further queries or payments pertaining to the debt be dealt with by our office. This is to avoid any third-party interference as this could cause problems. Any queries raised by the debtor is communicated through us, as your agent, which we in turn communicate via email with our client for verification, investigations and the Solutions to the query.
